I design the inksets to work with as many approaches as possible.  So, the
Epson driver is the default, assumed driver for them all.  The newer inksets
will also print OK with no image editor at all, but Photoshop and Photoshop
Elements is the recommended image editor because they both use a "Print
Preview" that allows the use of ICCs made with Roy Harrington's "Create ICC"
program.  So, the main workflow I'm now using includes Photoshop, Roy's
Create ICC, and the Epson driver.  For those who want control of every ink,
a rip like QTR is the next step, but they are not necessary, and I don't use
them for most of what I do.
