It's correct that Eboni doesn't work on glossy papers, but Paul's glossy UT7 curves cut out the black and essentially use C and M as the black inks, which works really well. I get around 2.2 on Epson Premium Semigloss with these curves. You might be able to get an additional 0.1 or 0.2 dmax if you switch to a dedicated PK ink and make some custom curves, otherwise there isn't much advantage to changing carts.
