Well, Tim, there you have it: this profile is for a matte paper, and is laying down Matte K ink on glossy paper-it obviously doesn't work. Unfortunately, inb the stampede to get the 2400 up and running, the authors of QTR didn't do much profiling for the R1800. A shame, because if you get a good one, its a great machine for this. I'd like to suggest we set up a library on the forum for R1800 profiles, perhaps those of us using it can each contribute a couple. I have one BO neutral (for RC Paper)I can contribute, and several tailored to my custom MIS 3K (K4 inks) both matte and RC for neutral and sepia. In the meantime, I'll email you the RC neutral BO profile. The other thing you might try is reading the help file re: making your own profiles. It's a bit confusing at first, but even without linearising with a densitometer or scanner you can come up with some fairly respectable results. > > The curve is the default UC EEnhMATTEBLACK/blend 50/none > Also RE: the above setting; regardles of profile, you should set the blend slider to 100% if you only use one profile/drop-down box; If you leave it at 50% blend (or any mix ratio) you need something else to mix it with, or your prints will look really funky.
