Hello Scott, >So Have people noticed that inks can loose their intensity in the >cartridges? Mine probably has been in the machine for 6 months max >if I had to guess. Can dye lots be this variable. Any thoughts from >our fellow r2400 users? Will I have to readjust my toning everytime >I switch a cartridge? Thanks for any help you can give. After 6 mos it may very well be some settling, as Bruce suggested. According to past threads re settling in other printers (typically the larger models without moving carts), it tends to be the magenta that does it. However, I've had a 2400 for almost a year now under regular and frequent use, and have noticed a slight shift from one color cart to another (I do ABW only). I have attributed it to production batch differences because I go through carts fairly often (I've averaged about 1.6 carts/month over the past year) and I doubt settling would be an issue. In addition, I've noticed these slight color shifts (nothing as dramatic as what you described) when changing LC and LM as well, which are much more frequently changed (about 3:1 over C and M).
