I have an old 1160 lying around, and some UT2 ink I used to have in a 1290 (1280 USA). I found the UT2 in the 1290 produced very good results, but was very unreliable (clogs all over the place). Finally it became unusable, and I have since put colour dye inks in the 1280 which work fine, but the UT2 instantly clogs up every time I use it. I now use a c86 with a combination of EZN and EZW and an r220 and UT3D currently with great success, in terms of result quality, controllability and reliability. What I am interested in is the similarity between UT and UT2, as I thought I might be able to re-use some of my UT2 inks in the old 1160 so I could print big again! I understand the 1160s are very reliable using pig inks. I guessed that I might be able to throw away the LC and LM inks of UT2 and try the others in the 1160. However this is a total guess so I would appreciate any info on how UT relates to UT2, i.e. if any of the inks are the same. Thanks in advance Steve Taylor
