calibration issues Spyder & )SX 10.4.8

2006-11-04 by siobhanmccloryphoto1@mac.com

Hi Everyone,
I am hoping that some-one here could give me some advice on the
following calibration issues as I have completely run out of
solutions and tried to contact Colorvision but have received minimal
support there--an e-mail with a link to the updater. Understandable
I suppose as on the update it says they do not support it although
the Spyder is for MAC
System: OSX 10.4.8/ G4
La Cie 22 blue IV monitor
Optical software updated to 3.7.7
Photoshop CS2.
1. Following numerous calibration attempts with the Spyder I get
error messages such as
(-48 fffffdo icc displayprofile.cpp 462)
(the monitor profile is defective.) or message
Calibration is successful and the screen then turns a fairly dreadful
green color.
Attempted solutions.
1. uninstalled, re-installed up-dated software.
2.Tried a different spyder (same results)
3. Tried a different monitor (1st attempt- failed/2nd attempt-
message appears to be defective) I went ahead anyway as I wanted to
see how defective: A sepia toned image in Photoshop was bright blue.

From the above I am leaning to software issues or video card.

To be honest I have never been particularly impressed by the Spyder
but as I do limited color work have not been too thrilled at
investing $$ it appears are required to get another system. Does
anyone have any ideas for either
The cause/solution to the above or ideas for
An affordable calibration system that actually works with MAC.
Thanks in advance.
Siobhan
