More data points: I also use both a C86 and R200 to print using MIS inks on matte papers. I have three R200s, and while they can make beautiful prints, the paper handling is TERRIBLE. Much of the time they won't even reliably feed standard bond, or Epson Enhanced Matte. My finished prints are all on paper weights 190 - 300 gsm. Sometimes it is impossible to get these papers to feed without damaging the paper. Sometimes I can get the paper fed with devious manual intervention. Feeding sandpaper through the paper path is another stupid trick I use to keep a tooth on the rollers so they will grab the paper. I had an old 900 Color Stylus that had an adjustable platen that worked well. I guess that was before the marketers took charge :) These desktop printers are really toys that are capable of astonishing print quality, but there can be a lot of heartache in the process. The C86 won't autofeed the heavier papers, but it will always feed with a simple manual assist. The R200 is so poor in this regard I am going to try B&W inks in an R800, but nothing to report yet. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Danny Twang <dannyt@...> wrote: > > Thanks Paul, but I'm not able to find any C88 or 86 here, however > they have one called Epson D88 Plus.....? > > danny > > >...
