If you really want to get into Lab Color, get a copy of Dan Margulis's 
wonderful "Photoshop LAB color - The Canyon conundrum and other 
Adventures in the Most Powerful Colorspace".
But be prepared to spend many hours reading and re-reading it!
If you only print monochrome, forget the above!!
