Scott, Are you feeding the heavier papers through the rear (horizontal) loading slot? It is a less user-friendly method than the automatic feed mechanism but, as it is designed for thicker papers, it normally overcomes such problems. The rear loading method is in the Epson pdf manual, but here is a summary: 1) Put the rear paper feed lever (on right) to the lowest position. 2) Manually feed your paper through the rear slot. 3) Align the paper with the sides of the printer so that it is square to the print direction. 4) Look through the open lid and push the paper about 1cm (nearly half an inch) past the line of grey feed rollers. 5) Lift the paper feed lever to the envelope setting so that the paper is gripped. 6) Press the paper button on the front panel and the paper will align ready for printing.
