If not, could a more transparent black ink result in Clayton's observation ? To eliminate a third possibility: I don't think that placing is so good that droplets fall on top of one another without any misalignment being visible in the scans. Or are you both looking at different B&W modes in the 3800 driver, c.q. drivers that are different ?
