Back to the 3800 PK scan, I looked at the dot pairs again and at about the 10% level they begin growing into groups of 3 and 4 dots, then 5, and it becomes a random grouping of clusters of 2 to 5 dots each. A bit further and the squigglies begin to emerge from these clusters - or I guess the clusters continue to get longer and begin curving. It's all very organic looking.
