>Does anyone know of a compatible ink base that will work >to create dilutions of Epson black ink... Ultrachrome or K3? I have some MIS base that is labeled "UC Base." I have no idea if it's really appropriate or whether they still sell it. I made my own, using only things I knew were compatible since they were major components of the UC inks, disclosed as such in the MSDSs. My mix was 4 parts water to 3 parts glycerol. It seemed to work well with dilution of a bit more than 1:1. I'm not sure how high I'd go with the dilution since it obviously excludes some components. I've experimented with a wetting agent for it also. I just used Kodak Photo Flo. It worked fine but was not necessary at the dilutions I was using. >What's used to adjust the viscosity?
