Re: [Digital BW] CS3 beta question

2007-02-05 by Alan Kearney

Steve, I've install CS 3 on my Mac and PC and I LIKE it. My only
complaint to date is that it takes OVER. Any image you double click
to open will open in CS 3! And with my PC I can't even force CS 2 to
be the default application again! I've considered uninstalling it on
my PC, a laptop for field use, but haven't yet.

I really like the new Camera Raw and Bridge on the Mac and find I can
make many image adjustments there and not be troubled with editing in
CS 3. I also find the program opens faster on both computers, but
I've fast older computers ( dual 2.7 GHz G5 w/6.5 gigs of ram, 2
internal and 2 external eSATA hard drives) (PC is dual 3.6 M4 Intel,
dual 7200 rpm hard drives in RAID O, 2 gigs of Ram), dated but still
fast enough.

Printing from my Mac to my Epson R2400 is very straight forward, no
problems that I can document. When I print B&W I use QuadTone RIP on
the Mac.

I've since removed Lightroom and Apples Aperture, in favor of CS 3.

Hope that helps, Alan
