Clayton, The only gotcha that I ran across was the WOW factor. As another CS user upgrading to 3, I missed the added tools of 2 as well. There is an additional wrap function that if you are in design and need to use PS more as a construction tool rather than an image enhancement tool, could prove very useful. So far since installing it, I have not had any issues with performance. In fact, a video issue with CS has gone away going to CS3. The most useful tool so far is the new selection tool.
