Alan, I think you are correct. http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx says the /3GB switch was added to XP Pro, but only works with programs that know how to use the extra 1GB, not all programs. You may also have to use another switch in your boot.ini - /userva=2900 - which restricts the memory to 2900 instead of 3000, because some video drivers won't fit into the 1GB left. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316739 My nVidia driver won't load with just /3GB but when I added /userva=2900 it ran just fine. Bob Frost. PS You shouldn't use the /3GB switch if you have more than 16GB RAM apparently! I doubt that affects many of us!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Kearney" <alan_kearney@...> To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2007 7:06 AM Subject: Re: [Digital BW] Re: CS3 and RAM use I don't think the "3 Gig switch" will work with XP Home, only with Xp Pro is what I've heard.
