Digital BW, The Print

A friend wants a letter-size printer...he's a very fine darkroom guy
and photographer... he needs a decent inkjet for his B&W files and
he'd like to spend under $200. 

Ideas? 

How about C86? Is C88 the same machine? Better/worse/comparable? 

Does it do good B&W with Epson pigs and standard driver? Is Black Only
available and does it look more neutral than 2200 does? What about
clogging? Do MIS inks make them less reliable?
