I've been quite pleased with MIS EZ inks in two C84s and now a C88. (I have an 84 and the 88 loaded with the MIS ink, while the other 84 is a backup - has Epson carts for the occasional color work unless and until I need it for B&W work.) The C88 is an Epson refurb that I think I paid $49 for, including shipping. They are not the longest lasting devices - I wore out a C84 in about 3000 sheets - but that's still less than 2 cents per letter size print in printer cost. Even in bulk the MIS EZ ink costs more than that.
