maniac - "a person characterized by an inordinate or ungovernable 
enthusiasm for something"

jihad - "a crusade for a principle or belief" (my note: while "jihad" 
can have Islamic religious connections it is not the only use of the 
word nor was that how it was used here)

I fully agree, which is why I said, but you apparently missed, the
