Paul,  I solved the problem by using an Epson chip from an empty 
cartridges.

I will follow your suggestion and order some extra chips and 
cartridges etc.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
