Just a FYI Hahnemuhle German Etching Has some OBAs in it..

The Hahnemuhle Museum Etching paper does not have any..

Ever paper should have a spec sheet so my suggestion would be to get it and
read it!

Cheers

John, I'm no expert in paper but I've been told that ANY paper that's really
White probably has Optical Brighteners in it. Some of the supposedly better
White papers will also have "buffers" in the mix to keep the "brighteners"
from fading away "too fast", key words being "too fast". There are some
excellent papers on the market that have neither OB or buffers in them, are
100% rag, and long lived. Try Hahnemuhle German Etching or Crane Museo
Silver Rag, both are free of OB and 100% rag and archival. if you like a bit
of "tooth" (texture) in your print try the German Etching, as the Museo is a
Luster paper. I've printed B&W to both and the German Etching really makes
the image "pop"!

Printer - Epson 4800 Pro, K3 ink. Hahnemuhle German Etching - I used MK
black but web site claims either MK or PK.

Museo Silver Rag - use PK ink.

Both companies supply profiles, which I'm very happy with. Printed using
Advanced Black & White in the Epson driver.

Good luck, Alan

Is any "white" rag paper theoretically as long-lived as "natural" rag
paper?

How did it get to be white, if not with inherently-transien-t whitener
and neutralizer?
