Peter, I think the misunderstanding may be that you are referring to TIF files and Alan was talking about PSD files. They act differently. I just confirmed this with my own files. I've been experimenting with QTR and have some images in both TIF and PSD formats. I used the same image and added an adjustment layer using both formats. The TIF file did increase in size almost 3 times, but the PSD file stayed the same size. I used the same procedure and adjustment layer on both file formats. I am still befuddled by this. On most of my files (all tiffs) when I add an adjustment layer it increases the file size by about 3x. I am not using masks on these file. If I delete the mask from the channels tab, the file size goes down a bit, but not to the original file size. Every once and a while I'll try it on a different file and it works fine. This is using the exact same procedure. I have tried using the adjustment layer icon on the layer tab and the add layer from the menu. No difference. I'm sure I am just doing something stupid, but can't figure out what. Thanks again for any help. Peter [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
