Thanks Paul and Steve for responding to my inquiry. So, the problem is air in the tank where ink flows into the printer. Yes, there is definitely air in all three of the cartridges in the feed to the printer. As a result I need to get a syringe, a bottom fill adapter and $54.00 worth of bulk ink (or remove the cap of the three cartridges I now have and risk not being able to replace with a good air seal) in order to use these cartridges. All three have this problem. 100% is a pretty high percentage with the problem, don't you think? If I recall my experience with MIS inks and my old 1270 and 1280, most of those gave this same poor printing problem. And even after the printer test and cleaning routines came out perfect, after a brief period of inactivity the problem returns. It seems to me that I am expected to do and spend a lot in order to overcome what I think is poor quality control and/or design of these cartridges. While these ink sets may be just what I'm looking for - unfortunately, I can't test with these lousy cartridges - frankly, it is not worth the effort. Thanks, but I will turn elsewhere (Piezography? Media Street?). Harry B Houchins www.lightspeed-images.com
