I'm running both a 4000 and 2 4800's in color mode.
There is very little discernable difference between the UC and K3 inksets  in 
MK mode. There is quite a bit of difference in the PK mode as you suspect. If 
 you are going to print on matte papers, save your hair. Same result. I have  
Imageprint loaded for both, and use the IP profiles and again, matte papers  
print pretty much the same.
