It looks like I could probably also use this configuration with a RIP, though I guess I'd have quite a bit of profiling to do (and I have no color densitometer). Since it would be very nice to be able to switch the printer back and forth between color and B&W use without changing all the inks, I might go this way -- I'm in the middle of a book project with another photographer who just lost access to the printer he was using for his color work, so one printer we could switch back and forth would be ideal. I have figured out the cartridge issue. The 4800 and 4000 are nearly identical *except* that the 4800 will recognize a "light light black" chip, so only the LLK cartridges are specific to the 4800. Now I just need to figure out which EZ Warm ink I need to buy bulk and load into 4000/4800 Yellow cartridges. The inksupply web page shows a differerent EZW bulk ink for each position in the printers they sell it for -- which one do I want? Thanks! Thor
