Hi, you could look at 'Black and White Photography in the Digital Age' by Worobiec and Spence, published by David and Charles Ltd. It's got some good bits and stuff you won't be interested in - gimmicky manipulation techniqes. Being part of this group will answer a lot of questions for you.
