Re: Reviving leaking MIS spongeless cartridges?

2007-12-03 by Kirk Decker

When I re-filled my carts for the first time, I had a leaker. Not
knowing what to do, and anxious to get on with the printing, I coved
the port with my finger and got it back into the printer asap. Since
then, I've had the same cartridge in and out several times to be
refilled and it hasn't leaked at all. I imagine that the leaking is a
seating issue with the little ball and spring inside the cartridge.
Sometimes it seats properly, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't tried it
yet, but I wonder if flipping a leaking cartridge upside down and
gently poking the the ball with the needle end of the syringe might
help it find a better seat.
