Karen,

I took the advice of several people on the list and downloaded Adobe's
free DNG converter. Once I converted the G9 raw files to DNG, the
older version of Adobe Raw (with CS2) opened them without a problem. 
What I do not know is if CS2 works with Vista.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
