RE: [Digital BW] canvas printing

2008-05-10 by David Whistance

Hi Joost

I have used several types of canvas. At the moment I am using two the Epson
Premier Art Canvas (which I think has now changed its name) and an Innova
Canvas (Fine Art Canvas 100% CottonIFA 30 - sadly now discontinued). I find
the Epson a bit coarse and too glossy - although lots of people like it. I
really like the Innova Canvas which is fairly smooth, matte and prints very
much like a "fine art" paper but as I said above has been discontinued.
Last time I ordered some Innova had only 3 rolls left, all 36". I was
tempted to buy them all as I like the finish but held off. Hopefully they
will still have some when I phone next or I'll be trying to find an
alternative.

David

  David,

What canvas are you using? For long I'm planning to do some
experiments, but I'm always discouraged but the negative comments on
the print quality. Already quite some time David Tobie mentioned some
very good results here on some test samples he received, but as far
as I am aware the brand/type name has not yet been disclosed (I'm not
sure if that particular material is on the market).
