Anyone getting good B&W results printing on canvas using k3 inks? I've googled around and a couple of folks said you have to tape the canvas to a thin mat board to get it to feed ... Thanks! Steve

Which printer are you hoping to use? I print on canvas all the time with my 9800 with no problems. I generally use rolls but sometimes use "sheets" (ie offcuts from an earlier roll job) and don't have feeding problems with either. You may well have feeding problems if you try and use sheets on say a 2400 though. David Whistance

David, What canvas are you using? For long I'm planning to do some experiments, but I'm always discouraged but the negative comments on the print quality. Already quite some time David Tobie mentioned some very good results here on some test samples he received, but as far as I am aware the brand/type name has not yet been disclosed (I'm not sure if that particular material is on the market). Yes, although we don't do that much canvas here at AAubreyBodine.com. Using 24" wide rolls through my 7800. Epson Premiere Art canvas with K3 inks. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "steveabrink" <steveabrink@...> wrote:

I'm printing on a 3800 and was going to try Epson premier canvas.. I just don't want to screw up my feed mechansim ... --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "David Whistance" <david.whistance@...> wrote: > > Which printer are you hoping to use? Hi Joost I have used several types of canvas. At the moment I am using two the Epson Premier Art Canvas (which I think has now changed its name) and an Innova Canvas (Fine Art Canvas 100% CottonIFA 30 - sadly now discontinued). I find the Epson a bit coarse and too glossy - although lots of people like it. I really like the Innova Canvas which is fairly smooth, matte and prints very much like a "fine art" paper but as I said above has been discontinued. Last time I ordered some Innova had only 3 rolls left, all 36". I was tempted to buy them all as I like the finish but held off. Hopefully they will still have some when I phone next or I'll be trying to find an alternative. David

Steve I haven't put canvas through my 3800, however I did regularly through a 2100 which has a similar feed mechanism and worked fine. Why not try one of the canvases that comes in sheet form to start? I think Hahnemuhle does some, either under their own name or Lumijet. David Whistance

I just ordered some of the BF canvas for BW printing from Booksmart to give it a try. Anyone else try this canvas for B&W? http://www.bfinkjet.com/docs/company/news.asp?n_id=33 Carl

Following some recommendations members of this group made some time ago, I have been successfully printing on the Premier Art Canvas Matte (22mil) with the Epson 3800. I tape on a 1.5 to 2 inch strip of postor card on the leading edge, and feed it in the back. I did have trouble getting it to feed with a 1 inch strip, but found that the wider strip worked well. It's kind of a pain to have to do this with the 3800, which otherwise is a fine printer. Howard [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
