Arthur, I would start with the new Baryta coated papers. My personal favorite is the Ilford Gold Fiber Silk. It is slightly warm tone, very smooth and not too much gloss. The Harmon Gloss is whiter and too glossy for my taste. Another paper I have had good luck iwht is the Innova Fibepeint Satin (semi matte). It has a bit more texture and less gloss but is also a wonderful paper. Whiteness is between the other 2. I really like the extra Dmax of these papers and the dynamic range it allows, although lately I have been wondering if I shouldn't wander back to the matte papers for the depth and 3 demensionality they provide. Oh well, its always something. Anyway, the Ilford is much cheaper than the others, so it might be a good place to start. Peter
