Hi Antonio, I made some black ink only prints from the Epson ink that came with my used 1270. I printed 13x19 on Inkpress heavy mat and I got no tint. For idiots like me, there is a learning curve. So, the quicker you get to something like Black Only with ebony ink or the UT set, the better-off you will be. Starting with the epson driver with the black print checked, you can learn about reducing ink laydown and making adjustments to the image in an image editor. Learning some of this before you go on to more inks and QTR will help. Look at the difference with the same image sent as grayscale and also as RGB mono, etc.. gar *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 5/30/08 at 2:11 PM Antonio Fernandez wrote: >Hello, Eddie. thanks for your info. i have two epson >1280 printers and plan to dedicate one of them solely >to B&W. > >i was hoping to learn how to produce b/w photos using >oem epson ink to reduce the learning curve when i make >the switch to UT-2 ink. > >i just may make the switch sooner than later.
