Thank-you for that... I had heard that it was Latin and hadn't delved deeper. I did know about the cuttlefish end and assumed it had to do with its ink output... The whole rotten cuttlefish thing does make sense and is interesting that we should use the term to make our 'brown tone" prints more desirable!
