I understand how to profile using the standard targets with color inks or the "extended grays" targets (which use some color inks), but what do I do when I am printing with dedicated B&W inks like the MIS UT or Piezo sets ? Can I use the QTR images ? Simply print the color targets provided in gray-scale ?? I'm being lazy here and asking some initial questions to put me on the fast track. Print profiling is new to me, and I'd like to master it as quickly as possible Either use a B&W inkset that is capable of printing via the RGB driver, and profile it with Spyder3Print just like a color inkset, or with other B&W inksets, use QTR to print, and its accessory CreateICC to build curve sets in the form of profiles. You can use Spyder3Print to measure targets for linearizing QTR, and reading patches for CreateICC, though you'll need some info on the process. -- C.
