Some have had luck cleaning the rollers with either commercially made cleaning papers or a cheap matte paper with Windex sprayed across the middle. The feed on these printers seems to be not only related to the model but also whether you happened to get a good one or not. > I'm using 3mk on this thing, and the MIS carts are see-through. > I got my first ink-out notice and see that there is still 1/4 > left of ink in the cart. Bulk Eboni is the most economical printing I'm aware of. > I used to have a chip resetter for Epson ink carts but it > died after only a few uses. I've had several. Some last a long time, others not. They're cheap and worth buying when one crashes. I just had to get a new one also. > Suggestions? A printer that is nearly impossible to feed takes the fun out of this. So, if it does not clean up, I'd probably dump the 1800. But do try to clean those rollers first. The 1800 3MK system is still very good when the 1800 (and carts) are working as they should. Most of my frustration with it has been leaky carts (about 1/3 of them, it seems) and problems with non-3MK workflows. Good 3MK carts and color or clear in the other spots is still a viable workflow. Beyond that, it's a crap shoot. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
