Tom, I began my MIS Ink and Epson 1400 "Ebony adventure" with a set of Ebony-ink prefilled cartridges (MIS EB6-1400-SET $95.45) a set of empty 1400 carts (ARC-1400-EC-SET $32.95) and one 4-0z bottle of each of the six Ebony inks (MIS EB6-4-X, where X is the printer ink "position", $18 per 4-oz bottle).I already owned syringes, etc. The MIS web site takes some patience to learn. They offer a remarkable array of items. I'm sure others have success with other inks and carts from other sources, but I felt the combo of MIS service and Paul Roark's input was a sound beginning. I have no connection, $ or other, with MIS, Epson or Roark. I come at this from a lifetime in the darkroom with alt-proc such as carbon-transfer printmaking. The EB6 ink color pleases my eye. Reasonable folks can differ where art is concerned!
