Late last year I talked to the people from Epson at a workshop for printing. They indicated the 1900 was terrific for color and glossy color, but not for black and white nor matt papers for color.

I'm quite new to this group and I am getting ready to order a new Epson Printer, I'm torn between the R1900 and the 2880. I print both Black and White and Color, probably more so color. Is there really any advantage to the 2880 over the 1900 taking into consideration the price difference. I consider myself an advanced amature photographer more into portraits than anything else. I've been following the discussions here, and want to start developing my black and white skills. Any advise would be appreaciated.
Thank you
John
