Digital BW, The Print

Hello all,
Does anyone have any experience with the Epson 2800 for BW printing?
After having my R1800 color printing ability ruined with the 3 black inks, I don't want to put anything in my R1400 and have that ruined also. 
   I was going to try the four inks for the C88+...anyone have any input on that printer and BO printing. I won't mind losing that because I got it on Epson reconditioned for about 45 dollars. The ink would have cost more.
  I still have about $100 worth of supplies (ink,carts, and I think chips) for the R1800 if anyone is interested. We can split the shipping.
