epson 2800 and C88+ questions

2009-10-19 by frankjay02

Hello all,
Does anyone have any experience with the Epson 2800 for BW printing?
After having my R1800 color printing ability ruined with the 3 black inks, I don't want to put anything in my R1400 and have that ruined also.
I was going to try the four inks for the C88+...anyone have any input on that printer and BO printing. I won't mind losing that because I got it on Epson reconditioned for about 45 dollars. The ink would have cost more.
I still have about $100 worth of supplies (ink, carts, and I think chips) for the R1800 if anyone is interested. We can split the shipping.
Contact me off list if you are interested.
thanks
Frank

What do you mean by ruined the R1800? Whatever you did should be reversible.

The R2880 (there is no 2800 that I've heard of) does fine B&W with the stock Epson inks.

I'm using a R220 which is somewhat similar to the C88- Paul Roark has an inkset for this model. You could use your leftover Eboni ink in the MK slot, but if you value smoothness I'd but the dilutions, too. My printer has run fine with this ink for 3 or so years now.
