Bob, it is used when printing black and white prints with quad or hex
inksets. Andy darlow has written a transfer curve that deepens the
blacks slightly when printed on certain papers, and I use it along with
pauls curves. I found out how you get to it, it's by selecting "output"
in the print dialogue box.

But There doesn't seem to be any way to load one of paul's curves in
photoshop 7. Although the curves are in the photoshop 7 folder, they
don't show up when checking the "load" button in curves.

I'm not having any trouble loading curves in PS7 (either native or classic)
that were created in PS6. I'm loading them just like I used to. Jerry, make
sure that you are looking at the read me file that came with PS7. It talks
about things you have to do if you install classic and not native...that may
be the problem.

Hi,
There is a way to load transfer functions in Photoshop - just click the down
arrow in the box and select the transfer curve extension (which I don't
remember at the moment. I usually make a transfer curve, save it and then
click cancel so it does not get associated with the image. Then I load it as
a curve and save it in curve format (.acv?). This reminds me it is acting on
the image.
