Which digital photo books are really worth it?

Which digital photo books are really worth it?

2001-08-24 by Brian Mikiten

I'm reading Paul C's book on digital photography (photoshop masterclass or something like that) but wondered what other books might give me an edge on using Photoshop 6.0 with b/w photography and digital output.

I've found Real World Photoshop 6.0, by Bruce Fraser and David Blatner, to
be very valuable.

I've recently been reading "Photoshop Restoration and Retouching", by Katrin
Eismann. There's not much that's specifically b&w, but I've learned a lot
about different tools and approaches to tweaking photos. I picked it up
because I was working on restoring some old family photos, but it really has
a lot of techniques that have general application in image editing. Great
step-by-illustrations. I would highly recommend it.

Photoshop 6 Artistry (Barry Haynes + Wendy Crumpler) is very
good, hope this URL works!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0735710376/

It gives very advice and workflows on speciific projects, though is
sometimes a bit too in-depth!, and it can be a tad difficult to find
what you are looking. Having said that... it's good.

I'm not familiar with Real World Photoshop 6.0 though, perhaps
someone is familiar with both books could advise which is better
for the B&W artist/photographer.
