Ink compatibility - again

Ink compatibility - again

2002-08-02 by bjpm77

First off, if my question has been addressed previously (ad
nauseumÂ…), please just direct me to the appropriate thread.

I am currently using a 1280 running a NoMoreCarts CIS with the
Piezography driver and Cone's PiezoTone Warm-Neutral inks. I want to
get cooler results and like the sample I just received from IJM of
their Selenium inkset. Alas, I was told (by IJM) that I have to
abandon my current CIS because the Warm-Neutral and the Selenium
inks are not compatible. Is this the experience of list members?
What makes this seem curious to me is that MIS claims I can drop the
feed tubes from my current CIS into their ink bottles, run the
appropriate number of purging sheets through the printer, and I'm
back in business. So MIS inks are compatible but Cone's own inks
aren't?? I certainly don't want to cause any head clogging or other
problems with my Epson, but I'd sure like to avoid paying another
couple hundred bucks for a new CIS. Any advice?

You just need to replace the carts with virgin carts - not the whole system=
. Move
the chips from the Warm inks to the new carts. Carts are about $35. at the =

inkjetmall. Don't even try to flush the Warm inks with the Selenium as ther=
e are
sponges in the carts that hold lots of ink and those inks will never totall=
y go away
no matter how many purge images you print.
