Digital BW, The Print

Thanks for the tips about "posterization".  The image I was working with 
yesterday was taken from my digital camera.  It was already in 8-bit.  I used 
channel mixers before converting to B&W, and the histogram looked fine, but 
after applying Paul's curves I have both gaps and "fingers of death".   I 
don't detect any problems on the screen, though.  I think I'll check out 
Tyler Boley's curves and do more experimenting.
