Digital BW, The Print

Hi all,

having ploughed thru the enormous wealth of information and advice on 
this list for some time and tried to use it to climb a rather steep 
learning curve practicing on my Photo EX, it's time to take the next 
step. To improve quality and flexibility I'm planning to add a 1290.
Since initially I'll expect somewhat more demand on colour output - 
low volume, no CIS required right now - I'll start using the 1290 for 
that and print b&w on the EX.

My questions: which paper/ink combinations should I start with?
on the 1290/colour - Gen4, MIS archival ,... on EAM...?
on the EX/b&w - MIS VM using Paul Roarks workflow,... on EAM, photo rag,...?
which profile for the EX/MIS VM? I seem to remember that the profile 
for the 1200 would work best with the EX?

I'm shooting 35mm, scanning with a LS-2000, PS6 on a Mac, OS 8.6 and 9.1
