Hi Tony, if what you're after is just experimenting a bit, I'd suggest you use only virgin carts (i.e. throw away carts once empty): it's just a bit more expensive, and you avoid the mess of refilling them (sucking foam out, with the risk of leaving bubbles and ink particles in the cart). Filling new carts is really straightforward (the worst you can do is spilling some ink around), and once you've found the ultimate ink you can decide whether to continue with carts or settle for a CIS.
