I hope this helps-MIS VM problem
2002-09-25 by Vincent Orlando
Hi all, yesterday I ran into a problem using the MIS VM inks that I never had seen after several hundred prints. Background: I am doing a large restoration job with old photos. After scanniing several as grayscale, retouching and printing with no problem I scanned some in as RGB. These photos had faded to sepia quite a bit. I thought I wouldn't have to change them to RGB to print. After retouching and printing the photos were awfull. No detail in the 10-20%, just a blob of light gray. After severaal hours of nozzle check, purge patterns could find nothing. Printed one of the earlier pic, perfect. Looking at the 2 files on screen the only diff was the sepia tone. Converted the sepia to gray, converted it back it RGB and applied the curves and it printed great, this after several hours and many prints. SO BEWARE, the file cannot have any color what so ever before appling the curves. I hope this helps anyone that might run into this problem. Vinny http://www.wulfsden.com
