Epson 2200, Mac & IP5

A couple of weeks ago I called Colorbyte and asked if they had a Mac version of IP5 for the 2200 Epson and was told they did. I was also told that it was for OS 9.X and they were working on a OS X version and would offer a free upgrade when it was released. Then the trick was to find a printer. Yesterday a friend of mine at a local camera store sold me hers, still in the box. I have to admit to a few hours of pure excitement at the thrill of victory as I had spent quite a bit of time over the past few weeks trying to locate the printer and expected to wait a few more weeks due to the fact that all the dealers were saying the printers were stuck on a boat due to the shipping strike. Now that I have the printer I went to order IP5 software only to find out that the Mac version is not shipping yet. I inquired in to the difficulty of installing the Windows version as my scanner has its own PC running it. A drag, yes, but doable. I then asked about the profiles for the 2200 as there were none listed on the Colorbyte website. They do have profiles for it but only for the photo black not the matte black. I was then told that they couldn't make profiles for the matte black at this time. Apparently it is some type of driver problem. The salesman assured me that these issues would be solved but they were waiting for information from Epson. Back to square one! www.michaelfaye.com
