Epson 2100 / Enhanced Archival Matte?

Epson 2100 / Enhanced Archival Matte?

2002-12-01 by Jo Brunenberg

Hi All,

I am a photographer from the Netherlands.
Just ordered an Epson 2100.

At Seybold S.F. I spoke to an Epson representative at the Epson booth. He told me the Epson Archival Matte would be replaced by a new paper: Epson Enhanced Archival Matte. The new paper would solve problems like green casts discovered with the Archival Matte.

Does anyone know where In Europe I can buy the new Epson Archival Matte in A3+ size?
Did anyone compare print quality on Enhanced Archival Matte versus previous Archival Matte?

Best regards,

 Jo Brunenberg

Re: [Digital BW] Epson 2100 / Enhanced Archival Matte?

Epson doesn't make it easy to keep the semantics straight, Jo. But I
think the name of the older, watermarked-on-the back-paper is "Epson
Archival Matte" (EAM). And that the name of the newer,
not-watermarked and not called "Archival" paper is "Epson Enhanced
Matte" (EEM).

I have some of each and don't notice a quality difference. In smaller
sizes, I think it's still easier to get EAM here in the US. And when
I don't mind the "EPSON" and the arrow on the back of it, I
cheerfully use it. But in A4 and 13x19, I use EEM, trying to be
careful to print on the whiter side, since neither side is marked or
has any texture.

I don't know where to get either in Europe, but I bet Nigel (Nij)
Rheam at MWORDS Limited (www.mwords.co.uk) in London does.
