Hello Gary, CIS means Continuous Ink System (or Supply?). It refers to an ink supply system sold by MIS which replaces ink cartriges on Epson printers with larger bottles. Saves money on expensive small cartriges. There are several other brands (CFS - Continuous Flow system ?) sold by other vendors. I don't know all the names...perhaps someone else can list all the names, etc. There was a recent discussion on the merits of various systems. It would be nice to see a list of all the brands and brief summary of each. Regards, - cj

Gary, It stands for Continuous Ink(ing) System. The usually 4 oz bottles of ink can be mated with a cartridge system replacing the standard EPSON cartridges allowing for printing without having to replace the cartridges, instead the bottles are filled when empty. Try http://inksupply.com, http://www.inkjetmall.com/ ,http://inkjetgoodies.com to get started. Good luck Frank Francis James Mares Photography
