Chris,

There's a Coolscan 8000 list at Yahoo.

I've had no problems with my 8000. So far I haven't seen any report like
this from another user.

You should load the scanning software first before inserting the carrier,
the pressure you need to let the internal gear get a grip at the carrier is
something you get a feeling for like changing gears in a car. There's no
clutch however :-)

could you tell us the name of the Coolscan 8000 list at Yahoo?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
