Anyone printing MIS FS-N with Piezo driver?

Anyone printing MIS FS-N with Piezo driver?

2003-02-14 by deepdeepblack <mikolaj-i@tlen.pl>

Hello group,
I'm considering piezo driver + MIS FS-N inks setup, but since I'm
just a student it's substancial expense. So before I buy it I'd like
to hear from you if the prints look good (subjective...) and, if
someone would be so nice, ask for a sample print.

I want piezo, because I will print mostly A4 (~8x10") to view from
relatively short distance. This makes smooth pattern and minute
datails very important.

Have a nice day,
Mikolaj

PS If anyone could possibly send me a print please contact me off
list. Thanks.

Yes, you can definitely use the MIS FS-N inks with the Cone piezo
driver. Ink jet mall will send you a sample of the output from the
driver, but of course with their inks. I switched from the original
(sundance) Cone inks to the MIS FS-N and the prints, to me, were
virtually the same.

Re: [Digital BW] Anyone printing MIS FS-N with Piezo driver?

I use FSN ink with piezo through one of my 1160s & it works great. I never
tried any other inkset so I can't make comparisons.

One thing to watch out for - unless you intend to do high volume printing,
it is best to stick with carts. The black ink contains a solvent that will
actually dry out inside the tubing of a CFS if allowed to sit unused. I have
replaced my K cart once already because of this condition. I have found that
using the system at least once a week will avoid any problems, but this
could be true for my area & your environment could be different.

good luck
-BK
